Where am I?

My friend Jackie was visiting last week, and we took in NYC in a big way.   From the West Village to Eataly, to the Met, to Washington Square Park, to the Brooklyn Bridge, to the new Caroussel in Brooklyn, the Promenade, Prospect Park, Coney Island.  Whew!  It was a busy week, and I was glad to have an unlimited subway card.

My favorite outing was the trip we took to the Cloisters.  Have you been there?  This annex of the Met is an amazing escape from the city.  After sitting on the subway for an hour and half, we walked out into Fort Tryon Park, and I felt like we were walking out into the Tuscan countryside.
Steep hills, amazing views of the Hudson, dramatic arches and pathways all made me feel like I had completely escaped Manhattan.  But there we were, in New York City.   A woman hurriedly scraping all the coins out of an ancient fountain brought me back to reality, and back to the Mixed Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler
